Chocolate Caramel Cake


  • Flour: 180g
  • Caster sugar: 200g
  • Cocoa powder: 20g
  • Vegetable oil: 75g
  • Baking soda: 1 tsp
  • White vinegar: 15ml
  • Salt: 1/2 tsp
  • Water: 250ml

For Chocolate Ganache:

  • Dark Chocolate: 300g
  • Fresh Cream: 100g
  • Butter: 25g


Step 1: Mix flour, cocoa powder, caster sugar and salt in one bowl and whisk well

Step 2: Add water and oil to the dry ingredients and whisk

Step 3: Add vinegar to baking soda. Once it bubbles put it into the batter and whisk well

Step 4: Pour the batter to the baking tray and bake at 180C for 30-35 mins

Step 5: Make caramel sauce following the recipe on highlights or from the feed

Step 6: For ganache, heat the cream and pour over chocolate. Add butter and whisk well

Step 7: Once your sponge is baked and cooled, layer it with caramel and chocolate ganache

Step 8: Chill it for half an hour after layering. Finish it with more ganache and caramel sauce. Enjoy the cake!
